Face to face. Portraits of young Israeli and Palestinian women.

Israel and the Palestinian territories live without ever meeting on a tiny land. A drop of water. A young country and an occupied territory. A conflict that never ends. On one side the West, modernity, diversity. On the other hand, the East and its tradition.
The media give us to believe in stereotypes. The war, horror, religious extremists, corrupt government, the settlements, the wall of separation, women subject.
We don’t know them, but they don’t know them more. They are not so different, they do not hate, they have the same ambitions, the same desires. They study and lead, each in their culture, a life comparable to that of any young woman.
This photographic work wants to gather them? To oppose them? Take a party? No. It's a parallel. A face to face. Sometimes they cross. Some looks. A smile. A desire to know his neighbor?

Françoise Beauguion lives and works to Paris. She is a graduate of the "Ecole Nationale Superieure de la Photographie" of Arles, she leads a photographic workshops of documentary photography. She is interested in the Middle East, various ethnic groups,  differences and seeks to find a fresh perspectives on conflicts, putting her rather optimistic point of view, opposite to the one prevailing in the news agenda. She works as a freelance photographer for the French press.
